Michael Jackson’s Type Of Girl

February 28, 2011

The Qualities He Looks For In A Girl

Age 12, 1970:

MJ: I like dey legs big and I like them with pretty big eyes (laughs) and uh, let me see what else do I like about girls?
Brother: How about their personality, Mike? (laughs)
MJ: Yeah, I like their personality. That’s one thing I like about them.

Questionaire Answered By Michael, 1970

The Qualities I Look For In A Girl Are:
Eyes, legs, personality.

1971

MJ: I haven’t really had any girlfriends yet, but I’ll tell you what I’d like to find in a girl. She has to have a good personality. I wouldn’t want to go out with a girl unless I had talked to her for a while, seen what she’s like, asked her a lot of questions.

Super Soul, 1971

Me: “Mike, let’s talk about Jermaine first. Do you get along with Jermaine as well as with your friends?”

Michael: “Jermaine and I have a lot of groovy times together! We get along very well and hardly ever fight like a lot of brothers with a big age difference do! Jermaine is the kind of older brother you can dig. cause he’s not the type that thinks he’s smarter just because he’s an older brother.”

Me: “What do you think is the thing that’s most different between you and Jermaine?”

Michael: “There’s a big difference in the kind of girls we like. People say I’m full of energy, and I guess that’s why I like lively girls who laugh and talk a lot. Jermaine is more cool. He digs girls who are the foxy type, mysterious and quiet.”

Jackson 5 Fax, 1972

Michael: I wish girls wouldn’t think they have to be some kind of super-girl for me-or any of my brothers-to dig them. But I guess it’s because we’re in show business they think our ideas about girls are so different from other guys.

Star, 1972

Star: What do you like in an girl, Michael?

Michael: I think personality’s the most important thing of all. I dig chicks who are on the lively side, who love to laugh and talk.

Black Stars, November 1976

“A young lady’s physical beauty can by no means outshine the inner beauty that radiates from her inner heart and spirit. The kindness of a girl is more important than anything, really, to be honest about it.”

From a generic questionnaire filled out by 18-year-old Michael Jackson in 1977

Would you like to get married?
Later in life

What kind of girl/boy would you like to marry?
Kind

How many children would you like to have?
20. Adopted. All races

Briefly describe your dream girl/boy
Beautiful in every way

What type of person do you usually dislike?
Nasty

Francesco Scavullo, Magic/Madness, Sometime in the 70s/80s

Photographer Francesco Scavullo once recalled of Michael, “He asked me, ‘What do you do about falling in love? Are you afraid they’re just after you for what you can do for them?’ And I said ‘Michael, you can’t live your life that way. You have to take a chance.'”

Special Edition of Right On magazine, 50 Facts About Michael, 1984

28. A soft, sexy scent will make Michael turn his attention to you.
31. Balloons, balloons, and more balloons are what Michael would send you if you were his special girl.
37. He loves singing romantic songs more than any other kind.
38. Michael loves having long telephone conversations with special ladies.
39. Michael thinks Japan is a wonderful country to fall in love because of its beauty and romance.
41. Go on a roller coaster with Michael and you’ll his win his heart. The scarier the better.

Katherine Jackson’s Bio, 1990

The most tired rumor of all was the rumor that Michael was gay.

All I can say is, Michael is not gay. He intends to settle down and get married one day. We’ve talked about it. And he will.

I wish he did have that special someone to share his life with right now; his life would be richer. I think that, deep down, he does, too.

I think the reason why he’s had so few relationships in recent years, is that he’s been approached so many times by women who are so obviously looking for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that he’s grown wary. Michael wrote about this type of woman — I call her a status seeker — in his song “Dirty Diana.”

When Michael was younger he joked that “when the love bug bites me, that’s when I’m going to marry.” By 1989 he was telling me, “The woman I marry will have to have a lot of money herself. That’s the only way I’ll know for sure that she’s not marrying me for my money.”

And yet, Michael seems happy. Even though he knows that he will never be able to live a “normal” life, he seems comfortable with his fame. I believe that when he’s good and ready to get married, he’ll do it, despite the inevitable press uproar.

REBBIE: Even if Michael were to find the “perfect” woman tomorrow, I think that he would be reluctant to subject her to the incredible scrutiny that he’s subjected to every day.

Even if Michael’s wife did manage to adapt to life in a fish bowl, she’d also have to cope with the reality of Michael attending meetings, and members of his entourage constantly pulling on him. Some of these people, no doubt, would view her as no more than a competitor for Michael’s time.

Glenda Tapes, June 1992

M: I just… wanna know what its like, girl, to have a real relationship with someone who doesn’t want me for me – that I dont, I don’t have to look over my shoulder all the time.
G: That doesn’t have an ulterior motive?
M: Yeah, that doesn’t question me… I mean..(i) I don’t… and, and.. like La Toya said in her book.. she said, either I am going to have to find somebody who doesn’t even know who the heck I am –
G: (i)
M: Orrr..oorr deal with somebody who’s career is equally as important, or equally like mine..
G: Well.. a nix to both of those.

Shmuley Tapes, 2000/1

MJ: I want someone who is a lot like me, who has the same interests and who wants to help. The ones who are classy and quiet and not into all the sex and all the craziness because I am not into that. I do not understand alot of the things that go on in relationships and I do not know if I ever will. Mean things and vulgar things with their bodies. I do not understand it and it has hurt my past relationships.

SB:Have you ever found girls who like practical jokes that you like? Have you ever found a woman who collects comics?
MJ: It is a rarity. If I find one I will go nuts. Especially, if she has those qualities and is beautiful inside. It would be a home run for me.
MJ: I think sexy comes from the heart in the way you present yourself.
SB: Have you ever found women who are a bit more modest to be more attractive for that reason?
MJ: Yeah. I don’t like women who are always saying, “My nails need to be done. I have to do my toes. I need a manicure.” I hate all that. I lke it when girls are a little bit more tomboyish. If they wrestle, climb a tree….. I love that. It is sexier to me. I like class, though. Class is everything.

SB:Celebrities are targets for people who marry them for wrong reasons, their fortune and their name. But don’t you know when someone is interested in you for the wrong reasons?
MJ: You don’t know.
It is hard because the women today can do a good job of faking it. I mean a real good job. They are smooth. Look in the Bible. Women have taken the most powerful men down to nothing because of what’s between their legs.
SB: Can you immediately tell innocence?
MJ: Right away although I find it harder to tell with women because they’re so smooth. But with men I can usually tell, because they are more open and like puppies, while girls are more like cats. You know how if you’ve been on vacation and you get home and a puppy is all over you, while with a cat, it’s “Hey I don’t need you, you come over here and pick me up”. They give you attitude. They’ll walk right by you even though they haven’t see you in three months. Women are very smart. Walt Disney always said they are smarter than men and he always hired more women.

Michael Jackson: The Undercover Freak

February 28, 2011

The Undercover Freak

Skinny Dipping With Jane Fonda in 1980, Post Gazette, May 01, 2006

Q.You do talk about swimming with naked Garbo in the book. What a moment. In the DVD you mention you skinny-dipped with Michael Jackson, too?
A. Yeah (laughing). Yes, the book was too long, so I didn’t include that. It was while I was making “On Golden Pond,” he [Michael Jackson] came and stayed with me for a while.

Triumpth Tour, 1981

And RadarOnline.com has learned the photos are a precursor to something even bigger – the existence of previously un-seen video of the Jackson Five rehearsing for the 1981 Triumph Tour, one of the group’s most successful tours ever. In the footage, Jackson showed foul-mouth by swearing, as he sang: “Bitch, close your eyes, let the rhythm get into you. I wanna rock with you.”

James Debarge told Tony Castro, sometime 1983-85

“He claims that once it rained and Michael stripped and danced naked around the pool. His mother would scream from the house, ‘Put your clothes on, Michael. Your father will be home soon.'”

Dave Stevens, Storyboard Artist for Thriller and Victory 1983-4

Michael already had a slight reputation for being a unique individual, so I asked Dave if he had any interesting stories, as Dave was spending a lot of time at Michael’s Encino mansion.

Dave Stevens was a very private person. Being such, he respected the privacy of others. He did tell me one detail of Michael’s life, however, I’ve never heard or read elsewhere.

Dave related that Michael’s personal assistant/secretary was the most beautiful woman he had ever met. To Dave’s amazement, in rooms all over the mansion were various full sized body cast/sculptures of her in a staggering array of sexual positions. Dave and I pondered the implications of that for quite some time.

Michael visiting Recycled Records Store sometime 2000 onwards

He also bought a bunch of old nude stuff-clipped out pictures from nudist magazines and old shots of posed nude women.

Billie Jean Sketch, 1981-2

Jackson’s friend, Dr, Steven Hoefflin, claims the 1983 mega-smash hit was inspired by a beautiful female fan the King of Pop spotted outside his family home. Hoefflin, 63, said: “The fastest song he ever wrote was Billie Jean. He said the lyrics just tumbled out of his head in one continuous, rapid stream.”

Taking paper to pen, he quickly wrote the song while in the car with two of his brothers. Jackson later sketched her in nude and presented the picture as a gift to his cosmetic surgeon pal. In his autobiography Moon Walk, Jackson wrote: “Billie Jean is a composite of people my brothers have been plagued with.”

Todd’s “Man In The Mirror,” Bad Tour 1988

For the most part, Michael confined himself to the only place where he felt comfortable: his hotel room.

What did he do there besides watch videotaped movies? When he checked out chambermaids discovered a neat, ten-inch-high ballpoint rendering of himself on the bed sheet. The table cloth bore a portrait of blonde bombshell Brigitte Nielsen, and there were additional self portraits on the pillowcases and napkins. To the busy housekeeping staff, these introspective doodles of a broed superstar were nothing more than soiled linens that needed to be laundered.

Michael and The Nymphs, Commisioned Early 1993

Based on the Waterhouse painting:

Waterhouse’s “Hylas and the Nymphs” brings to life a version of the Greek myth, Jason and the Argonauts, as told by William Morris in The Life and Death of Jason. In Morris’ version, Hercules is left on the island of Lemnos after his companion, the handsome Hylas, wanders away from the ship. Hylas comes across a group of sea-nymphs who, enchanted by his beauty, seduce him into loving them, eventually dragging him into the sea water with them. The Argo leaves Hercules and Hylas behind on the island, and Hylas is never found.

The Security Guards Know All

February 28, 2011

The Security Guards Know All

Anthony Simmons, Night Security Guard 1988-9,

“I can definitively say I was with Michael Jackson from ‘88 to ‘89. I was there primarily at night. I was the chief. And I never saw him do anything inappropriate, questionable, what have you,” says Simmons.

He says Jackson could not have crossed the line. “Michael has had girlfriends and that’s all I can say about that,” says Simmons.

Bad Tour Security Guard 1987-9,

When we were riding around in a car in Berlin, Michael would look at the women in miniskirts and high heels …”Look at her hips!” and “Look at her ass!” Michael would say.

However, when we passed the girl in question he realized she was a 50 year old woman.

It is needless to say that Michael and I had a good laugh about that. It goes without saying that Michael is pro ass?

Michael’s Armenian Driver Gokor (you can see a license plate for “Gok” in Who Is It), July 2010

He said that when they were in London and a hot woman would pass by them Michael would use some Armenian words to talk about the woman with Gokor so that if his children were near him they couldn’t understand what they were talking about. He would say “lavna che Gokor,” which in English means “isn’t she hot Gokor” or he would call those hot women “pretty fish.” They spoke about the fact that Michael had a woman he loved very much and had been near him for many years. It wasn’t a secret but her identity was kept a secret.

Mike Seropian, Driver 1999-?

“He wanted to get married,” says Seropian. Michael knew Seropian was well connected in Arabic countries, and recalls a time back in 1999 when Michael asked him to help him find a wife. “Can you hook me up so I can get married?” Michael asked Seropian.

Michael had hopes of getting married for as long as Seropian can recall. He even asked to be introduced to Brunei’s Prince’s daughter so he can marry her. “He always wanted to create a family,” says Seropian. He wanted to “start up a family. He had his kids during this time, so he probably wanted them to have a mother in their lives.”

In regards to recent reports that Michael was secretly dating his children’s nanny Grace, Seropian said he couldn’t confirm if the two had a relationship together; however, he did add that Grace and Michael “were very close. Sometimes he would tell Grace that he’s going take her to Europe and take her around [with him]. He was very close with her, but I don’t know if they were intimate or not,” Seropian tells Hollyscoop.

Bodyguards from 2007-2009, 9th March, 2010,

MICHAEL JACKSON’s former bodyguards have spoken out about their late boss, revealing the King of Pop romanced a string of women with dates in the back of his limousine. The Thriller hitmaker’s longterm security guards, Mike Garcia, Bill Whitfield and Javon ‘BJ’ Beard, agreed to be interviewed on U.S. TV show Good Morning America on Tuesday (09Mar10).

And the trio divulged personal details of the late singer’s life behind closed doors, insisting Jackson had at least two steady girlfriends whose identities have remained a secret – and he took them on dates driving up and down the Las Vegas strip when he lived in Sin City.

When asked about the child molestation charges which were levied at Jackson despite his acquittal at a 2005 trial, all three insisted the star was not guilty of the accusations.

Whitfield says, “Being a man… men know men, and we (were) around him long enough to know he was a man.”

While Garcia adds, “(He had) desires of women like we do. He had lovers.”

And Whitfield goes on to describe Jackson’s various romantic encounters in the back of his limousine: “In the cars that we had, we had a curtain that covered the back seat. You couldn’t see in the back seat. They talked back there, they didn’t do nothing out of bounds… you can hear the kissing.”

Q & A:

Q: am curious about this and i KNOW alot of people would like to know too so here it goes Bill… did you saw MJ flirting with girls alot? was he a natural flirt or just avoided the whole thing cause of his shyness?

MJ’s Bodyguard: I was not going to answer this but I’ll give u guys a little. Yes, MJ was very charming, he did flirt from time to time. Sometimes he would ask me to get someones number or ask do I think someone is cute. It was so funny to watch dude flirt. I tell women I meet that I have a dog, I would hear MJ tell women he has a Zoo! how do you top someone that has a Zoo?

Lenart: When Michael asked you to get someone’s number what would he tell the girl? That he is calling coz she is pretty lol?

MJ’s Bodyguard I cant get into that….yet

Q: Hey, at first lemme say thank u for everything u do, thank u for the way u show your devotion and yourlove for our dear Michael, there is a question that interests me a lot and if you have time i will be very grateful u to answer me-so can you tell me what kind of women Mike liked?I mean what should a woman look like… to attract Michael’s attention? thank u beforehand and God bless you.

MJs Bodyguards ok for the LAST TIME! though I should wait for the book I will say this; MJ admired the way women styled their hair and the way they dressed. He commented about diffent women just walking buy. He would ask us what did we think about sertain women, he liked talking.

Q: hey when is the book coming out? my question is did Michael ever date a girl a lot younger than him? and welcome back!

MJs Bodyguards We are still working on a date release. He did take someone to a movie and dinner, not sure if he would call it dating.

Q: Hey Guys! Did you ever see a lady turn down/ignore/brush off MJ? LOL. It would be hard to imagine but maybe a funny story? Thanks!

MJs Bodyguards Never, if they were able to get close to him it was because they wanted to be.

MJs Bodguards: Please, I’ve seen MJ hit on women! Lol

What His Friends and Family Say

February 28, 2011

What His Friends and Family Say

1972

Here were the people who had taught him what he knew – not just of music but of being a person! Jackie who patiently a fact of life; Tito talking to him as an equal about serious matters; Jermaine teaching him how to act with girls; and Marlon moaning and groaning about teaching him the dance steps while secretly enjoying it. Michael knew that even if he walked to all four corners of the earth, he would never find anyone to replace them – his family.

Marlon, National Enquirer interview (in 1988), Jacksons touring

“Michael was just as promiscuous as Jermaine. I remember back in the early days, Michael was something to keep up with where the girls were concerned. Believe me, Michael ain’t no virgin. No way.”

Susie Jackson, Magic/Madness (in 1991), Jacksons touring

“I remember that his brothers used to tell us these wild stories about how they used to go out and get girls and bring them back to the hotel room for Michael,” Susie Jackson said. “Then Michael would supposedly have sex with these girls.”

Flo Anthony (in 2004), Jacksons touring

“Jackie’s wife Enid, actually told me that when they were teenagers, they had a bunch of women just up in the room.

I think that’s the cleaned-up version of what Enid told me.”

Michael Lovesmith, former fellow Motown recording artist, 70s

“Don’t believe the nonsense about Michael being gay and stuff. When there were girls around he’d talk about them to the guys and run around pinching their asses and then run away. He was a real funky street dude, know what I mean?”

How Motown tried to hide romances and wives and girlfriends, 1973

For a long time the Jacksons have been denying romantic rumors about themselves. Then, two years ago, after much protest that he had no girlfriend, Tito went off and married his childhood sweetheart DeeDee Martes.

In the meantime, his brothers countered the marriage-go-round rumors with, ”Yes, Tito has married but none of us has a steady girlfriend right now.”

So many denials later, it has finally come out that Jermaine had dated Hazel Gordy for a long time and finally married her in a dazzling ceremony this past December.

The latest denial has come from Jackie, who used to date Hazel before Jermaine did. He insists he and Debraca Foxx (actor Redd Foxx’s daughter) are just ”good friends”. Hmmmmm!

So far Jackie says that neither Marlon, 16 1/2, nor Michael ,14, has dated yet. ”But that doesn’t mean they’re not interested in girls. No,man! They are just waiting for my dad to turn’em loose-then look out!”

But some fans have wondered if this is true. Michael may not date yet at 14 but Marlon, who will be 17 on March 12, might have already started playing the dating game. If he has then why the big mystery even with Jermaine’s , Tito’s and Jackie’s romances?

MJ discussing how Motown would tell him what to say, Glenda Tapes 2:2

“What with Motown… ’cause they tell you- in the interviews, when we used to go on Carson or Mike Douglas or whatever back then, when we used to do interviews as the Jackson Five, you know when you’re in this kind of business they kinda like, they like…ok girl…. “Do you have a girlfriend?” “No.” Do this… You know got, it’s like, they dictate to you everything.”

Pete Bennett, Promoter, 1974/5

Bennett, born Pietro Benedetto in the Bronx, signed Michael and his brothers on with CBS’ Epic Records in the mid-1970s. Bennett is also a close friend of Trenton casting director, Roz Clancy.

Beverly Johnson, a model, actress and writer, was the first black model ever to grace the cover of Vogue magazine in August 1974. She appeared on more than 500 magazine covers, including Glamour. Bennett said that Jackson had the hots for the sultry, black star.

“He had an eye for pretty girls, especially Johnson. She was about 25 and Michael was 16. But Beverly, I believe was dating Arthur Ashe at the time,’’ Bennett said.

“Often when I would be in his company, Michael would point a girl out and admire her looks or figure.”

Brad Elterman, photographer, late 70s

When we started out in the photo business some three decades ago we were all teenagers just out for a laugh and a shout with a camera in hand. All us were aspiring journalists, photographers, actors and musicians. We all knew each other and partied and danced together. Michael was always around. Yes he was very shy, but he was right there on the scene. Leif, Tatum, Michael and of course Rodney Bingenheimer was responsible for putting it all together. How can we forget one day in Malibu when Michael was asking Leif for some dating tips! You really had to be there for that one.

‘WIZ’ PRODUCER RECALLS JACKSON’S SENSITIVITY, NYPost By ROB COHEN (June 27, 2009), 1977

Film director Rob Cohen met Michael Jackson in New York in 1978 while producing “The Wiz,” the film version of an all-black Broadway production of “The Wizard of Oz” starring Diana Ross.

Every once in a while I’d get him to come out with me to Studio 54 on a weekend night, and we’d always go with a big group of fashion models and he would get out there and dance and just ignite the place. He already had those moves, you know? He didn’t just invent them for his videos. He didn’t go as far with it back then, but he did the spins and the moonwalk, a little Fosse, a little Astaire.

He had no idea the effect he already had on people. We’d get back in the limo with him at the end of the night and I’d say, “Michael, you know you could go home with this girl, or you could go home with that girl. Why don’t you take some of these girls home with you?” And he’d say, “Really, you really think they like me?”

Bobby Colomby, Todd Gold, Recording of Destiny, 1978

Michael, on the other hand, was utterly infatuated with the woman whom Colomby was then living with, actress Pam Grier, the tall sexy star of low-budge black exploitation films like Foxy Brown. “When he found out I was living with her, he just flipped out,” Colomby recalls. “She’d walk into the studio and he’d squeal and run out and hide.” When Grier called, Michael felt tongue-tied. “She’d want to have him over for dinner. I’d say, hey Michael, it’s Pam and I’d hand him the phone. He couldn’t handle it. It’d just drop in his lap and he’d stare at it. He wouldn’t even talk.”

But Michael’s curiosity was like an open floodgate and he couldn’t stop talking about Grier. “What does she do with you, Bobby?” he asked. “What do you mean?” Colomby replied. “She must hit you with skillets,” Michael laughed. “I think when you come home, she throws a skillet at you. She bops you over the head.”

Michael’s gullibility about sex worried Colomby so much that one day he took him upstairs to one of the small, second-storey offices at Cherokee Studios for a man-to-man talk. “Michael,” he started, “you’re a young man. You’re about to get out there in the world and meet a lot of people–a lot of women. And you might run into some interesting situations. Sometimes it’s difficult for you to go to your parents or your brothers and talk about those kind of things. But I want you to know that I’m there for you. That any time you need a friend, in any kind of situation, I’ll help you.” Michael smiles. He was touched. “God, that is so sweet of you,” he said. “But I already have someone I confide in like that.” “Oh, great,” Colomby replied, mildly surprised. “Can I ask who?” “Diana Ross” Michael replied.

Tim Whitehead 80s,

“He’s not gay; I really feel certain of that.” said his first cousin Tim whitehead, who has toured with Michael as a roadie, “Many times a good-looking girl would walk by and Mike would whisper, ‘ Hey, what do you think of her? She’s somethin else, isn’t she?”

Ryan Folsey, 1983

Ryan hung out with Michael in his bedroom, which had a mattress on the floor, toys everywhere, and illustrations of Peter Pan on the walls. They talked about music — “I was amazed that Michael didn’t know who U2 was” — and the girls they had crushes on. Jackson revealed how discombobulated he had been by Ola Ray’s sexual allure after a dance rehearsal with her. “He started getting all nervous and stuff,” says Ryan. “He said, ‘She’s adorable, she’s adorable. She’s so hot!'” It was just so funny seeing him that way.”

Steve Manning, Long time Michael friend and publicist, Right On! December, 1983

Second, most young women want to know about Michael romantically. Again, the answer in a word is private. Very private. Michael has a personal life very few people ever see. He likes it that way. He has always been concerned with the effect his tremendous popularity might have on those he most cares about. He does everything in his power to shield people from any sort of public intrusion. He is very caring and protective, and this is a first for all of your Right On! readers, Michael is presently involved with a young lady he cares about a great deal. However, he is doing everything he can to protect her from the glaring eyes of his adoring public. This is one thing Michael intends to keep to himself.

Q: Do you think that is fair to all of his fans?
A: Yes, I believe it’s fair to his fans and Michael as well. You have to realize how much work Michael does. He is a compulsive perfectionist who spends a great deal of time and energy on all his projects. I’m sure his fans would never begrudge him a little privacy or a little quiet romance.

Q: Do you think Michael enjos the reputation he has of being Hollywood’s “last innocent”?
A: I really don’t think Michael is that aware of being “a last innocent.” Besides, I think the description is not at all accurate. Michael is quite aware of what is going on around him and since he turned 21 he has handled all of his own private business affairs. All financial reports, contracts, etc go directly to Michael. He has total control and final approval on everything. You have to be pretty shrewd to handle all that. So the “last innocent” reputation is a little difficult to accept, for those of us who really know Michael.

Q: Does Michael ever go out alone?
A: Yes, he travels around quite a lot in LA going back to forth to the Jackson’s studio, keeping various appointments and seeing his friends.

Jermaine Jackson, 84

“Michael isn’t the loner everybody thinks he is – and he certainly isn’t gay. He has lovers and dates a great deal but people just don’t know where he goes.

Michael is a Jehova’s Witness and believes in his religion but he’s not a fanatic. He’s a very warm, loving person who needs lots of affection. He often says to me, “With all the hit records and millions and millions rolling in, there comes a time when you’ve got to say, I’m a person as well. I’m a human being, just like everyone else and I want to enjoy myself. It’s great entertaining people and giving them joy and love, but what about the Michael inside?”

“Michael isn’t an unhappy person, but he always says that he’d be a lot happier if he was married and had a family. He adores kids. He talks about them all the time.”

1984

And as bad as it is for people like Michael Jackson, it is not as bad as people think. “He may have to sneak around to do it, said one former employee of the Jacksons, “but Michael definitely has his fun. You may see him or you may not see him, but believe me, he’s out there.”

During production of Bad Album, 1986-7

“He has a split personality. He is very bright & very self-destructive. He has an extremely high IQ & a terrible temper. He is childish but domineering. He is rich & powerful, but also an insecure child. So he can be angelically sweet or cuttingly cold.”

Also the journalist’s comment: He (Mike) is sitting reading a comic that carries the headline ‘Michael Jackson is 30yrs old and has never had a date’. Michael seems hurt but then giggles, walks into the recording booth & starts to sing.

Los Angeles Times October 11, 1987

Many people who work with Jackson are contractually obligated not to talk about him-or at least not in specific terms. Still, some sense of the private man does leak out.

Discussing the possibility that ”Michael’s Pets” might be featured in an animated film, Bob Michaelson said it was unlikely Jackson would appear in such a film. ”I think Michael is too macho, too cool to be seen with a bunch of cartoon animals.”

Macho is not a word that springs immediately to mind in describing Jackson, but inevitably, in the Gary Hart era, speculation on celebrity sex lives is considered standard dinner party conversation. And there is much speculation about Jackson.

”I haven’t been around Michael much since he was 19,” says Bobby Colomby, music reporter opn CBS ”Morning Program,” ‘but I know that then he was very upset at the idea that any kids might perceive him as gay. He’s very graceful, and he has this high-pitched voice, and so inevitably there are people who think he might be gay. I saw no indication of it. So anyway, if that question came up I would say ‘No.”

Sam Bono, Bad background actor, 1987

“That is when I really got to know him,” Sam offered. “It was just us, the camera and the director. That is when he openned up. He let loose. We talked about everything from the weather to the Thriller video. He was like a regular guy and he was very professional.” Sam said that after seeing Michael smothered by his staff and security, it was good to see Michael left alone and allowed to be himself. Mike told Sam that he really got a charge out of doing the Thriller video. It seems that the monsters gave him a real thrill.

Bono said that he and Michael talked about girls and family.

Quincy Jones, Q Magazine, November 1987

Can he see Michael getting married at some stage?
I think he’s getting to that stage. I don’t know about settling down. I sense that he’s changed a lot, he’s much looser now.

Karen Faye, London, 1988

However, if reports of Michael’s make up girl, Karen Faye were to be believed, it was possible that one of the Jackson lookalikes wandering the streets really was Jackson.

Karen said her employer liked her to disguise him so that he could wander the streets unmolested. “He’s out and about more than people think,” she said.

Anton Glanzelius, 1988

“I tried to make him show a few moves but he wouldn’t, he was so shy! He said that it was different to perform in front of 50 000 people. We talked about everything from football and fame, to girls and love,” he says.

Frank DiLeo, 1988

If Jackson won’t say what he thinks of Dileo, what does Frank think of Michael? First of all, he doesn’t think he’s weird.”There’s an eccentric side to anybody who is a creative genius or a great artist,” he said. He calls Jackson an extreme practical joker, and he thinks that Jackson will marry some day,”perhaps when he is 35.”

“‘What people don’t realize is that Michael wants to get married, he likes women and goes on well with them but he doesn’t yet feel like he’s got the time to do it. He’d like to have kids, probably a number of them. He gets on likely well with them, he’s marvelous with mine, but he’s not ready yet. He might have been in showbusiness for more than 20 years but he’s only 29. He doesn’t believe he’s ready right now. I don’t think it’s anyone’s business, but I would be quite surprised if he is a virgin.”

Journalist: “Why does Michael sing sexual songs if he doesn’t know anything it?”

Frank: “He’s the age to know something about it and has been for some time. Maybe he’s getting around a little better than you think.”

Wade Robson, friend from 1988 on, 2005 court case

Prosecution to Wade Robson:

Q. Is that because you view Mr. Jackson as being, for the most part, asexual?
A. No.
Q. Because you believe that he doesn’t really have a sexual interest?
A. I believe that he has a sexual interest in women.
Q. In women?
A. Yes.

TMez cross-examination on Wade:

Q. The prosecutor tried to suggest that Mr. Jackson is asexual. Do you remember that question?
A. Yes.
Q. Do you believe he’s asexual?
A. No.
Q. Have you seen Mr. Jackson with women in your lifetime?
A. With what kind of woman? A woman that he’s in a relationship with?
Q. That he’s been married to.
A. Yeah, with Lisa Marie.

Jackson Family Interview, Donahue, 1989

Audience member: “Does Michael Jackson have a steady girlfriend?”
One of the brothers: “There’ve been several…”
Katherine: “Well there have been several women in Michael’s life, but right now I don’t think there’s anyone.”

Teddy Riley, producer Dangerous & Invincible albums, 1990-onwards

“Michael Jackson was a woman lover, trust! Dude gets it in. I have only once told a close, close friend that I just couldn’t believe how he gets it in. One, I can’t even express that to anybody, cause niggas just don’t understand. But that is just keeping it real. He is a real dude. He’s human. He has a child life in him. He deserves to be a baller and a player sometimes.”

“I was always that friend he could’ve said anything to. He expressed a lot of his most deepest concerns and feelings about a lot of things. I know some personal relationships that he has gone through, female relationships and different things like that but I would never disclose that. That’s the stuff that I know. ”

Teddy Riley talking about RTT, Billy Bush’s (Access Hollywood) radio show (RRT recorded 1990-1991)

Teddy R: When we were working on RTT. We actually stopped. We played the music. That was actually the fifth song, the fifth track I played for him. He stops me and I thought I would be kicked off the project. He took me to the back. I thought he was going to lecture me you know, like saying that I did this cord wrong or something. He was like: “Play that on the piano”. And he took me to the back just to see if I play. I played it on the piano and he said: “That melody, everything. Everything is just great about this song. And what I want to do to this, is it to be full of love.” He said, “I can’t tell you who I’m writing this about, but I know this is going to be a second single.” He said this while we were playing the track.

Billy Bush pipes in and asks Teddy if MJ ever told him who he wrote the song about.

Teddy: No. No, I know who it’s for, but I can’t say (laughs)

Billy Bush: Who?

Teddy: I would never. I mean, we’re close but even when we signed a um disclosure agreement and everything…he said “You can talk about it” and I’m like no I would never talk about it. It’s like a secret I would keep for my book.

Bryan Loren, worked on Dangerous-onwards with Michael, 1990

I spent a lot of time with Michael. Yes, a lot of time in the studio, but a lot of personal time as well. Among other times, Michael spent at least one Christmas and one Thanksgiving at my house. Just the two of us. We spent a lot of time talking. About life, music, art, movies, people, women(yes, women), and what it meant for him to be who he was at the time in which he lived. We talked about Elvis. He actually conjectured as to whether his musical legacy would be considered as great as Elvis’. I always assured him it would. I was with him in N.Y. working on ‘History’ around the time he first started seeing Lisa Marie. I was actually even a little jealous, then. I’d always thought she was very attractive(lol). I was with him when he decided he was going to the Oscars with Madonna. I stayed at, and went back and forth to Neverland. I spent many days at the ‘Hideout’.

David Williams, Guitarist, Telegraph Magazine 1992

David Williams, the guitarist “who has contributed to all of Jackson’s records since 1979,” was asked what Michael Jackson is really like. “Michael’s no fabrication,” he says. “He’s totally genuine. And he’s funny, too. Michael is totally normal. We talk about food, women, music, the movies — ordinary things.”

La Toya Jackson, interview around 1991-1993

LaToya: I do know that at one time and at one point he was very interested in a young lady.

Q: In what?

LaToya: A young lady. My mother did not care for her.

Ahmed Elatab, 1997-2003

“He’s sexual, he likes women. I’ve seen him flirt. Some of those women he says are his nannies, he’s sleeping with. He’s just hiding it from the public.

“He said he’s not gay, that people are jealous and out to get him.”

He referred to his friend as being “smooth”, adding he knew how to talk to women.

Jeffrey Daniel, Nottingham Post, November 06, 2009, 10:19

His fondest memory in the 30 years he knew Jackson was at Neverland.
“It was just the two of us walking together one night. We were going to see Toy Story in his cinema and we just talked. Not business, just life, children, family, girlfriends, wives, what we want to do… and that’s something I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.”

WAMO Pittsburg Radio Station, January 16 1998

“You know something? Mike done changed after he started gettin’ some…” Then he went into a story of how he met MJ once during the Victory Tour in D.C. and he was shy and timid. Then he met him just recently at a gathering with Teddy Riley or someone and MJ was completely different. Open, funny, not shy and most of all checking out the women with Teddy and this DJ and some more guys. Someone asked him what he found most attractive in a lady and he said light eyes and long legs and then pointed out some chick that fit that description and all the guys agreed she was “da bomb.” In the words of this DJ, “Mike is a true brother who has gotten a bad rap and as long as he was in radio he would support the brother.”

Mark Lester, 2000

‘We’d go out for dinner or a coffee and he would notice women walking past and say, ‘She’s so cute, she’s got a nice tush,’ but then he would be very apologetic.

Rabbi Schmuley on Howard Stern, 6th April 2001

Howard: “We’re here with Rabbi Shmuley. Is Michael gay?”
Rabbi: “Michael is firmly heterosexual.”
Howard: “How do you know?”
Rabbi: “Because he’s always saying to me that there is a beautiful woman. He and I talk about him not having many dates and it’s because he doesn’t know if they are interested in his money and celebrity or whether they have a genuine interest in him. He’s a romantic.”
Howard: “What about Debbie Rowe? Were they together when you met Michael?”
Rabbi: “They were just coming apart then.”
Howard: “What about his kids?”
Rabbi: “His kids are beautiful.” He starts talking about when Michael met Katie
Couric. He said that Michael commented that Katie is the kind of woman he wants to meet, smart, pretty, acted like herself in front of him. Since Michael is so shy, he asked me to ask her if she wanted to have coffee with him.
Howard: Interrupts and says, “Did he father those kids?”
Rabbi: “Of course. Prince looks like his father. He has Michael’s eyes, the same blotches on his skin.”
Howard: “What did Katie say?”
Rabbi: “That she was flattered but was currently dating someone.”

Rabbi: “He’s not really a recluse. He’s been to 30 public events in the last few months.”
Howard: “Does the mom see the kids?”
Rabbi: “Sometimes”

Dieter Wiesner, 2003/4

“Other support, besides his family and fans, was hard to find. Most of his famous “friends” had abandoned him.

Michael was very disappointed about that. We did contact some of those people who were known to him at that time. We would like to ask them for public statements to support Michael. But the most of them did not care about it.”

For example?

“Well, Chris Tucker was suddenly no longer reachable. Not available. And a girlfriend, whom by the way I liked personally very much too, she was prepared to make a statement but she wanted money for that.”

“I do not mention the name of the girlfriend on request of Dieter Wiesner. We talked a bit about her and her friendship with Michael and I got the impression that Wiesner and Michael liked her very much, but that the friendship was more on Michael’s side than hers.”

“Michael didn’t care about the money thing. But I was personally disappointed.”

Aaron Carter, 2005

However, Carter insisted that he thought Jackson liked women.
“He’ll see a girl and comment on her,” Carter said, “or want to touch her [bottom]. He likes girls.”

Aaron Carter on ET 2003

Q:What are your thoughts on everything Michael’s been going through and all the accusations now against him?
Aaron: I think it’s stupid, ’cause I know for a fact that he likes girls. (gives a look to the interviewer) Trust me.
Q: Okay, how do you know for a fact that he likes girls?
Aaron:
Cause I’ve seen him with girls. I’ve seen him walk up to a girl and get her number and call her up and talk to her and say “Hey baby, what’re you doing?”
Q: You ever see him kiss a girl, hold hands with a girl?
Aaron: Yeah, I’ve seen him kiss a girl before. Oh yeah, I’ve seen him totally make out with a girl before.
Q:Where was that, was that at his ranch or…?
Aaron: Yea, it was at his ranch, yeah.
Q: Do you know who the girl was?
Aaron: Just like a fan or something.

Aaron Carter, Howard Stern, 2006

Aaron: Actually, I saw Michael take a girl home from his own party, too.
HS:
Really?
Aaron:
Yeah.

William Wagener, regarding the court case 2005

“My nagging question, is why MJ attorneys did not bring in the 4 or 5 gorgeous women, MJ has secretly dated over the past years to prove he is…. well…. normal. To me that would have put more “REASONABLE DOUBT”. I have spoken to two, and they both said, it is part of the deal. If MJ trusts you to date him you can’t blab about it to the tabloids or anyone. Okay. I understand, and that is smart, but heck his life, his kids, his freedom is on the line here. MJ won’t budge. His girlfriends keep their mouths shut. MJ keeps his shut.”

Frank Tyson/Cascio, April 13 2004

Frank Tyson spoke with ‘Celebrity Justice’ by phone for 45 minutes on Monday (April 12), and he revealed stunning, new details about the case against his friend Michael Jackson for child molestation. Tyson, who has been around Jackson since he was 13, told ‘CJ’ that he shared a bed with the singer from time to time, while still a minor. Tyson says he and Jackson would have frequent and graphic sexual conversations in bed, conversations about women, but he says Jackson never laid a hand on him. In fact, Tyson says Jackson is completely straight and there is a woman Jackson has secretly seen for years and Tyson says he arranged liaisons for the two.

Eddie Griffin, 2006

“We all know Michael Jackson ain’t fucking no kids… he might be fucking y’all wives.

I had a friend tell me she slept with Michael and she said the thriller is thrilling. She said the reason that nigga wears one glove is that he’s scared to touch his own shit. She said that nigga had to moonwalk to pull his dick out of it. And you know he’s getting some pussy, ‘Yo butt is mine.'”

Akon 2007,

“It was the craziest thing, because we sat down, we talked about Africa, we talked about my foundation [Konfidence], we talked about the music, we talked about girls. We had a great, incredible time that day,” he continued. “He was extremely funny, he told jokes, and he liked to have fun.”

Tito Jackson, In Touch, 2010

“As far as I’ve always known, my brother had more sex than I did with women. He definitely wasn’t gay. He was not a rugged, beer-slinging type of man. Michael wouldn’t beat you up; he would beat you with his brain.”

The Match Maker

Michael introduced Marlon to his wife Carol,

“I met my wife when I was 12 or 13 years of age. Matter of fact Michael introduced me to her. We were just friends that’s what we were. We were real close friends.”

From the book “Many Love Letters to Michael,”

When my sister Charity introduced me to you with my brothers Alfred and Sam at that swanky Texas house party you asked me if I was married and I told you I was separated from my wife Chaye and we were going through a divorce. That’s when you folded your hands and said, “I will be praying for you.” Then you introduced me to your beautiful cousin Jackie and folded your hands again and said, “I’ll be praying for you.” 10 minutes later you went to other side of the room and made the praying gesture and smiled as you pointed at your cousin. I remember you doing this two more times before finally saying good night again saying “I will be praying for you.”

Sex Education

Bobby Taylor, Mojo Magazine, 1969

While the contracts were being ironed out – Joe Jackson had previously entered into an agreement with a local company back in Gary – the kids shuttled back and forth between school in Indiana and Taylor’s apartment in Detroit. “That is, as long as I had an apartment,” Bobby laughs. “Having all these young, boisterous house-guests always around, making music or making mischief, didn’t sit well with my neighbours. Listen to this: My youngest brother Jerome and Michael were busted for peeping on the people next door. They leaped from my balcony to the next, and then to the one beyond that, just to watch this couple having sex. And this was way up on the 19th floor! Crazy kids. Not long after that I was invited to leave the building.” Taylor then found a house which he says was more suited to constant influx of Jacksons.

During an Interview In 1970, Aged 12:

@ 6:48

MJ: (gets up and browses through magazines on a table, picks one up and goes to sit back down)
Jermaine:
Michael, please. No, he got the Playboy. He got the Playboy. (tries to snatch it away from him)
MJ:
(fighting his brother off) No, sit down. (to interviewer): Now, I would like to tell you all the people on (Inaudible) TV (flicking through it) one of my favourite things
Brother:
(Inaudible)
Michael:
… in The Playboy magazine.
Jermaine:
Michael, they filming you.
MJ:
(looking like he’s been caught, looks up at camera and smiles)
@ 8:56
MJ: (flicking through the magazine) This is a big butt.

Right On, August 1973

After receiving our individual room keys, everyone rushed upstairs to check out the rooms, order some food and mess around.

I doubt anyone got any sleep that first night, since there was so much of the hotel to see, plus “X-Rated” movies on TV after 11:00.

Ask Jackie, Tito and Jermaine… they’ll tell you! Because the next night at 11:00 people probably thought the whole slab of us had gone back to California… you could hear a pin drop. Everybody was in their rooms checking out the “you-know-what.” But the funny thing is that if you asked anybody the next day what they did last night or what time they went to bed – they’d crack up and start laughing. That really became the joke of the tour.

Touring with the Jacksons in the 70s asking a prostitute Lillias Harris what “get off” meant,

“He started asking me about my life. I didn’t want to talk. That’s not why I was there. I gave him my number and told him to call me if he ever wanted to get off. Michael looked at me and asked, ‘What does get off mean?’ He was totally sincere. ‘It means screw Michael. Call me when you want to screw’. Michael said ‘Oh, ok. I doubt it.'”

Truman Capote, Studio 54, 1977

Author Truman Capote remembers watching Michael riveted by a man and woman having sex in the shadows.  “I sort of expected him to be absolutely shocked,” he reasoned. “But he seemed to be studying them like they were mating panda bears in the zoo.”

To His Sister Janet Jackson around 1977, Vibe, September 2006

Didn’t you once walk in on your parents having sex when you were younger?

Yeah, but I didn’t know what I was watching. I couldn’t figure out what the hell it was. And the horrible thing about it was that I should have known about it way before then, because I was 11 or 12. But I had missed all my sex education classes.
So how did you find out what was going on?
My brother Mike and I were very close at that time, so he was the one who told me. Now don’t forget, he’s very young at this point too, so he’s teaching me whatever it is he knows about it.

Bobby Colomby, Todd Gold’s book, Recording of Destiny, 1978

Michael, on the other hand, was utterly infatuated with the woman whom Colomby was then living with, actress Pam Grier, the tall sexy star of low-budge black exploitation films like Foxy Brown. “When he found out I was living with her, he just flipped out,”Colomby recalls.

Asking Tatum O’Neal (her autobio: Paper Life), 1977-1979

He gave me his number, and we started talking everyday–long drawn-out conversations that sometimes got so boring I would hand over the receiver to my friend Esme Gray. Michael would just keep on, thinking he was talking to me. His usual subject was sex. At 12 I didn’t have much to say about sex–all I knew was that it went on, pretty steadily, in my father’s room next to mine. But Michael was intensely curious about anything, everything sexual, though in an incredibly sweet & innocent way.

Asking Byron what “Jack U Off” meant in 1981,

“In 1981 Prince had a song about mutual masturbation on his ‘Controversy’ album called ‘Jack U Off’.” Byron goes on to say that Michael made comments and asked questions like “What does that mean, exactly? What kind of person writes a song about that? I mean, that’s so private, isn’t it? Maybe I should write a song about something like that,” Michael said, teasing him. “Can’t you just see that?”

Byron said, “no.”

Asking Brooke Shields about the bases, 1981-1984

“I would share with him, and he was like a little kid who talked about the bases- what first base was, what second base was, and it sounded very odd to the outside, I can imagine, but to the inside, to someone who’s never really left his bubble, you can understand how he would be curious.” Shields continues.

Touring: Groupies, Strippers, Prostitutes

Tales of Groupies, Strippers & Prostitutes

Groupies

Yolanda Lewis, Groupie with Jermaine, Magic/Madness 1972

When Marlon was fifteen and Michael fourteen, they would share a hotel room with Jermaine, seventeen, who would wait for their security man, Bill Bray, to go to sleep before sneaking down to the lobby to pick up girls. Often, he would bring them back to the room and instruct Michael and Marlon to, as Marlon recalled it, “play sleep.”

(One night Jermaine goes to the lobby where he finds Yolanda Lewis and invites her back to the room. The rest is told from her p.o.v.)

“The next thing I knew, I could see in the dim light that Jermaine was sitting on the bed in a lotus position, naked and frantically rubbing some kind of lotion–baby oil, I believe–between his legs, all the while moaning to himself. He had the smoothest body I’d ever seen on a young man, and I remember being a bit disappointed because I hoped he would be muscular and cute like his brother, Jackie, who I had slept with the last time the group was in Cleveland . Even in the dim light, you could see Jermaine’s ribs poking out from under his skin. I began taking off my clothes slowly, but Jermaine’s whole thing was, “Strip, baby, and let’s get to it now ‘fore I come without you.” So I jumped into bed with him and he quickly climbed on top of me. We made love. That was not disappointing. Jermaine was very experienced. He knew positions I still don’t know how to get into. It was like he was double-jointed or something. As we climaxed, he shuddered so loudly I was afraid he would wake up Michael and Marlon, who were sleeping three feet away together in the next bed.

“Or at least I thought they were sleeping. As I was slipping out of the room, I heard Michael say to Jermaine, “Nice job. Now will you please go to sleep?”

Michael Jackson, Moonwalk, 1988

“In those days, touring with the Jackson 5, I always shared a room with Jermaine. He and I were close, both onstage and off, and shared a lot of the same interests. Since Jermaine was also the brother most intrigued by the girls who wanted to get at him, he and I would get into mischief on the road. I think our father decided early on that he had to keep a more watchful eye on us than on our other brothers. He would usually take the room next to ours, which meant he could come in to check on us anytime through the connecting doors. I really despised this arrangement, not only because he could monitor our misbehavior, but also because he used to do the meanest things to us.”

Marlon, Interview in 1988/9

“Michael was just as promiscuous as Jermaine. I remember back in the early days, Michael was something to keep up with where the girls were concerned. Believe me, Michael ain’t no virgin. No way.”

Susie Jackson, Magic/Madness, 1991

“I remember that his brothers used to tell us these wild stories about how they used to go out and get girls and bring them back to the hotel room for Michael,” Susie Jackson said. “Then Michael would supposedly have sex with these girls.”

Jermaine, March 31 1973

Will the same thing happen with Michael when he gets a few years older? Does he go out with girls?

“No,” smiles Jermaine. “Marlon doesn’t either.”

Because they’re not interested or because they’re too young?

“Oh, they’re interested! But I guess my mother won’t turn them loose yet! ” Watch out when they do….

“Yeah!” Jermaine agrees, laughing. “Another thing is that when we go to places we never really get mobbed unless Michael’s with us,” says Jermaine.

What about groupies?

“Well, there’s groupies everywhere! Seriously though,” he shakes his head. “I hate to say that about the  fans! But it’s just that we hardly ever go out with girls on the road. We’ll go to a show and if they’re  there, fine. But we never would take one our separately. We don’t get bored though, because we know that we’re there to work – and to make money!”

Merv Griffin Interview, 1974

Merv: How do you handle the girls situation? ‘Cause that is..
Marlon: The fans? They know, uh, (laughs, embarressed) sometimes they’re knocking on our doors and I throw Michael outside and…
Merv: You get thrown outside Michael?
Michael: (embaressed) Sometime.
Merv: Do you all have girls? Oh you’re married, Jackie?
Jackie: No.
Tito: I’m married
Merv: Tito’s married?
Tito: We were just in St Louis and um, they knocked on my door all night long. (brothers laugh)
Merv: And what does Mrs Tito say?
Tito: Mrs Tito wasn’t there. (laughs)

Michael Jackson, Late 1976

“You know, when you’re on the road, you get a chance to meet a lot of girls. I’m only scared of them when they’re in a group watching our act. Sometimes I think we’ll never get off the stage in one piece. They do some strange things, like taking off their underwear or whatever you call them and throwing them onstage. I’ve heard of this happening to other entertainers but until it happened to us, it was hard to believe.

“When we were in Chicago, three girls tried to storm out hotel room. And they meant business. Now I have grave doubts as to who the weak sex really is.

Robin Katz, Record Mirror, July 2nd 1977

Groupies, to Michael, are the girls who succeed in climbing over the wall of their house and then get thrown out by the security guards. And the guards are the people he sneaks by to have a good night out. And when Michael has a good night out, he is smart enough to keep it to himself.

Bruce Swedien, Thriller sessions 81-82

I clearly remember one rather interesting event that happened early on the project, while we were working at Westlake’s Beautiful Studio D on Beverly Boulevard in Hollywood. A healthy Los Angeles young lady walked slowly by the front window of the studio. That window was made of a one-way glass facing the sidewalk and the street. All of a sudden, while we were watching, she pulled her dress high up over her head. She was wearing absolutely nothing underneath! Quincy, Rod and I got a very good look! We just there gawking! We turned around and there was Michael, devoted Jehovah’s witness and all, hiding behind the big Harrison mixing console, getting an eyeful, all the same! True story.

MJ, on Billie Jean a song about a groupie, 1982

“Of all the songs on the Thriller album I think I’m more happy about Billie Jean than any of them because there’s a lot of truth in the song.”

Quincy Jones on Billie Jean,

“Michael wrote Billie Jean – and that stuff, you know, it was just highly, highly personal. According to him, he said it was about a girl who climbed over [his] wall and he woke up one morning and she was laying out by the pool, lounging, hanging out with the shades on, bathing suit on… and Michael said she had accused him of being the father of one of her twins [laughs]. ”

Quincy Jones, Thriller 25, 2007

“Michael’s songs, even if it’s on a abstract base to me, were somehow always autobiographical, you know? It always felt that way of knowing him really well and the complexities in and out of his life. They always felt autobiographical even if it was something he was resisting. You know? It would come out in the song.”

Quincy Jones on Dirty Diana, a song about groupies, 1987

“Dirty Diana came from a deep place from Michael.”

Glenda Tapes 2:3, September 91-92

M:Welll… (silence)I seen my brothers, you know, when we were travelling and stuff and doing the circuit and all that. Joseph would be in another room messing with a girl and it was obvious they were having sex
M: I know… but I didn’t wanna tell mother, and Marlon and I didn’t wanna tell them but.. all my brothers kind of just… did the same thing, so, Joseph…
G: Are any of your brothers still married? Or isn’t everybody married right now?
M: well, they broke up but, Marlon and Carol have been, they’re trying to work it out. I admire Carol because Marlon was gonna divorce her but she still wanted to make it work
G: And Jermaine, what is he doing?
M: Oh GOD…
G: laughs
M: I remember, like I told you before, when Marlon and I had to share a room with Jermaine and Bill was asleep. Jermaine would have girls up there all the time screwing and stuff. I always (said I’d never ??) Marlon said the same thing. I felt so guilty when we used to home from the circuit and stuff before we made it, y’know we used to do the club circuits and stuff. I felt so guilty, and I just cried and Joseph choked me, almost broke my arm one day. But he was proud of it. It’s like, (joseph’s voice) “Oh, this is what you should do, boy.” I mean, he didn’t say that but he was screwin’ women in the other room and stuff.
G: What an awful thing to witness. From your father, your role model. (sighs) Especially doing stuff to your mom. What an awful thing.
M: Mother would say when we came home, she and the girls would be in there you know, waitin’ back at the house and all happy,Joseph’s back!. Joseph would come home, so glad to see mother. It’d just make me sick. And then Jackie and everyone, they started doing that. I told this girl – Jackie saw her when we were on stage (I). I told this girl, I said, “Don’t go with Jackie.” He found out and he went backstage and stuff and I said, “Don’t go with him, please don’t go with him.” She’s like, “Why?” I said, “Please don’t go with him, he’s gonna hurt you.” So, she went. She met him. She was a virgin. And he had sex with her and stuff like that. And in the limo, we were in the limo. And they were gonna take this girl home. Like, I said, “Why did you do that? Why you didn’t just listen to me? Why did you do that? Why did you go with him?” And she was just crying. I said, “Did he hurt you?” and she said, “No. But he told me after we had sex that he never wanted to see me again.” I said, “why did you go with him? I told you backstage don’t go with him.”

LaToya’s Autobiography,

Another morning the entrie family was awakened by a heavy crash! and ran outside to investigate. We saw a tiny young woman tramping along the perimeter of the swimming pool, shrieking at the top of her lungs, and toppling these solid marble statues it had taken four brawny men to move into place. When all the statues were lying on their sides, she commenced turning on the gas valves that feed the heating units in the pool, the jacuzzi, and the gas lamps.

“I’m going to kill all of you” she screamed hysterically. “Every last one of you!”

My father managed to calm down the woman while waiting for security to arrive. They brought her in the house and he demanded, “Okay, what’s your name? How did you get in here? Why are you doing these things?”

She glared at Joseph, Mother, Michael, Janet, Randy, and me, lifted her skirt, and in a deranged voice declared, “My name is Pussy, and I’m gonna give it to all of you! All of you! And I hate you! Because you’re close to Michael!”

“What are you talking about?”

“I hate you!” she said, looking at me. “And I’m gonna make sure you don’t live. God’s gonna strike you dead!” When I’d heard about enough, I walked out of the room.

Shmuley Tapes, 2000/1

SB:Let me just share one thought. You said your father would humiliate you when you were in concert and push you out on stage in front of all the girls who loved you… to do what? To show his power over you?
MJ:Well, um, no. He wouldn’t do it on stage. Like after a show, there’d be the room full of girls. He would love to bring the girls in the room, my father. And after the show we’d have something to eat, or whatever, and the room would be just lined with girls giggling, just loving us, like ”oh my god” and shaking. And if I was talking and something happened add he didn’t like it he’d get this look in his eye like… he’d get this look in his eye like that would scare you to death. He slapped me so hard in the face, as hard as he could, and then he’d thrust me out in the big room, where they are, tears running down my face and what are you supposed to do, you know?
SB:And how old were you now?
MJ:No more than like twelve… eleven, something around there.

Flo Anthony, 2004

“Jackie’s wife Enid, actually told me that when they were teenagers, they had a bunch of women just up in the room.

I think that’s the cleaned-up version of what Enid told me.”

Prostitutes

James McField , the group’s former pianist and band director recalled. “Sometimes, Michael just needed someone to talk to and maybe once or twice, a woman would be introduced to him as someone very nice he could be with, to have the company of a female. But he wouldn’t have sex with her. As far as I now, to my knowlege nothing intimate ever went on. He liked nice girls, pure girls, who appeared to have no street background.”

Streetwalker, 1988

Song written by Michael, street walker is a slang word for a prostitute.

Who Is It, music video about a high class call-girl, 1993

The video was released in 1993. It begins with Jackson in what seems to be a hotel, singing about his girlfriend. He is distressed because he found a silver card in with the name “Alex” on it. To him, it implies that “Alex” is another man who his girlfriend is with; thus, she is cheating on Jackson. However, as the story in the video unfolds, this is not true, because the girl takes on different identities (I.e. Eve, Diana, etc.) for her job. “Alex”(which is also a girl’s name), just happens to be one of them. The video alternates scenes from where Jackson is singing about his pain, to where the girl is being changed into her different identities and taking care of her jobs (mostly meeting with other men and making love with them). Towards the end of the video, Jackson has packed up his bags to leave town, because of his distress. A helicopter comes to pick him up from his house, where he is only seen again on it, trying to sleep. The girl comes to Jackson’s house, and she asks the doorman to let her in. The doorman shakes his head, implying that he left. When she asks why, the doorman drops a flutter of silver nameplates (including the one that said “Alex”) from a slot in the door. The girl only nods and walks away.

Strippers

Michael Jackson, Moonwalk 1988

“We’d start the song and somewhere in the middle I’d go out into the audience, crawl under the tables, and pull up the ladies’ skirts to look under.”

[…]

“We worked in more than one club that had strippers in those days. I used to stand in the wings of this one place in Chicago and watch a lady whose name was Mary Rose. I must have been nine or ten. This girl would take off her clothes and her panties and throw them to the audience. The men would pick them up and sniff them and yell. My brothers and I would be watching all this, taking it in, and my father wouldn’t mind. We were exposed to a lot doing that kind of circuit. In one place they had cut a little hole in the musician’s dressing room wall that also happened to act as a wall to the ladies’ bathroom. You could peek through this hole, and I saw stuff I’ve never forgotten. Guys on that circuit were so wild, they did stuff like drilling holes into the walls of the ladies’ loo all the time. Of course, I’m sure that my brothers and I were fighting over who got to look through the hole. “Get outta the way, it’s my turn!” Pushing each other away to make room for ourselves.”

Great Greenland Mystery, April 1981

Interviewer: What sort of material did you start with in those days?
Marlon: Temptations, James Brown….
Michael: I think the song that really tears the house down was Skinny Legs and All by Joe Tex.
Interviewer: With all the theatrics?
Michael: Oh yeah. You know I used to go in the audience and lift all the girls’ legs up! God, I’m so embarrassed about that. I would never dream of….
Marlon: Favorite part of the act-lifting up all them skirts.

Michael Jackson, Timothy White Interview, August 24th 1977

TW: What would you say is the worst thing you ever saw in your life?
MJ: Well, can it be anything?
TW: Sure.
MJ: It was probably during the hard days on stage. Some of the things I use ta see when we used to do nightclub acts. [Giggles] You’ll probably say, “Aw, that ain’t nothing,” but to me, especially at that stage, I had never seen anything like it.
TW: Seen what?
MJ: [Giggling harder] See, we used to do club shows, and there was this one lady — you probably know what she did — but I thought it was awful. I was around six, and she was one of those stripteasers, and she would take her drawers off [giggles] , and a man would come up, and they’d start doing — aw, man, she was too funky! Ugh! That, to me, was awful.

Gotham Chopra, Flashdancers is an NY strip club, Dangerous recording sessions 1990-1

After we were done with those sessions – they’d usually go until about 2 AM or so – Michael would wander into the bathroom and come out with a sack he’d pulled out from under the toilet. In it, he kept several thousands of dollars. He’d ask me how much I wanted. I just sort of shrugged and he’d hand me a couple of thousand dollars. Soon, I’d be packing my dictionaries and thesauri and rhyming books in my backpack, calling my friends and telling them to meet me downtown. Within an hour, we’d be at Flashdancers “making it rain.”

Michael was always envious when I told him about my adventures with my friends. More than a few times, he’d get dressed up – dawning some sort of quasi-disguise – preparing to go with me, only to back down at the last minute or be held back by his security who would shake their heads and plainly say no to his misguided ambitions. Instead, he’d pour himself a tall glass of orange juice and settle in for the night to watch an old movie on TV, telling me to spend a few extra bucks for him. I happily complied.
